Nonwoven geotextiles and woven geotextiles represent two distinct categories of geotextiles, with their primary differences stemming from the materials utilized and the methods of production.
Non-woven geotextiles use synthetic fibers like polyester, polypropylene, and nylon. Manufacturers produce them through composite techniques such as high-temperature melting, spinning, and non-woven processes. In contrast, woven geotextiles combine fiber textiles and polymer materials, mainly polyester and polypropylene.
Manufacturers produce non-woven geotextiles using hot air or acupuncture methods. The hot air technique involves melting the fibers and subsequently blowing them into a non-woven fabric, while the acupuncture method employs needles to strengthen the fiber layer. In contrast, woven geotextiles are created through a weaving process.
